I never thought of myself as being very fortunate until I was talking a friend of mines awhile back.
I never knew that she’d never been on a plane before. Even if she had, she was to young to remember. She’d also never been on a ferry or into the interior areas of my province.
I’ve been on planes every year since i was 1. The only year I didnt go on a plane was the year my little brother was born. Even then we went on vacation.
My family and I leave the country every year for 2 weeks.
I been to many cities and even though I haven’t seen the whole world its still better than nothing right?
Luckily my parents dont like to go to the same place twice in a row either. So its a new city, new state, or country ever year.
Sometimes I wonder what it feels like to have that excitement. The excitement of entering a ferry terminal for the first time. A ferry terminal that is only 45 minutes away from my house, seems like such a tiny everyday thing for me to go to. But for my friend it was a life changing experience.
Heh I even got pissed off at her cause she was so hyper and jumpy when we landed in the island city.
I just wonder. Really wonder. What is it like to be on a plane for the first time? What is it like to be excited over simple things?
